Have you seen this man?

It isn't that we really want him back, we just want to know that he is gone... For those that didn't see the news, us South Carolinian have lost our Governor...

Still not really knitting...

So I still am not knitting that much. Last month I had a week of jury duty and worked on my black rose socks for my mom, I have piddled a little with the shawl I am working on (beaded so it is taking forever!) but I am still not doing much there...

I have however started to teach myself how to machine quilt and working on my piecework more. I am not that good at sewing, but I am trying and practice makes perfect right?

I tried to sign up for Secret Pal, but I think I was a day too late, I never got my pay pal invoice... Ah well...

I have been more diligent in the last few weeks at the gym, I had my month 2 weight in and the tangibles weren't great, but the intangibles were fantastic! I have only lost about 2.5 inches, .75% body fat, and 2 pounds, but my stamina, strength and flexibility are way up. I can live with it, next month can only be better...

Well, I am off to shower (just got back from the gym) and work on my quilting some more... I should have some pics up later this week.

Picture time... Swap time!

Malabrigo of the month club... OOH LA LA! I always wanted a sock needle holder...

Tea Swap! A lot of goodies!

SEC Swap. This was the first swap that I ever hosted. It was for the members of my SEC (South Eastern Conference) group on Ravelry. We had a low turn out, but it was still a lot of fun!

She went above and beyond!

Contest and Commentary on life...

Hey guys, go and check the contest over here... http://www.orinda5.blogspot.com/. Even if you aren't from Minnesota guys it is worth it!

As far as life goes, it is getting a little slower. I have made myself join a gym, I am going to be working with a trainer for at least the first 3 months, and I will see where I am after that. I called down to the Gold's Gym up the street from my house and about 15 other gyms and by far the price was better at Golds and when I was talking to the woman that will be my trainer (when she gets back from vacation) she was really excited and wanted to hear where I am in getting into shape and where I want to be and what makes me want a trainer...

It sounds really stupid, but those were really important things to me to be asked. It isn't just that I need someone to tell me what to do, but I really need someone aside from myself to push me. I can't go by the scale alone and if I am doing it by myself, I can justify anything I do or don't do to myself, but I can't do that if I am talking to someone else.

I went down on Thursday for my orientation and to talk to the manager and he was pretty cool, my first full workout will be with him on Wed at 8am while Leslie is on vacation. I spent 30 minutes talking and then 30 minutes working out. I am still sore, yes, three days later I am still feeling it, even though a month ago I was working out and doing pretty well on my own... So I thought...

On the knitting front, I did finish my scarf for Marsha and once again, just like the devil hat, I forgot to get a picture before I gave it to her... She loved it. I told her when I saw her after she was off with her new fiance that I had something 7 feet long and furry for her in my living room. It took her a minute, but she was so excited to know her scarf was finally finished...

I really want to get on with knitting the socks for my mom. I have one blackrose done and one cast on. I am also supposed to be knitting squares for the person running the swap I am taking part in (haven't had time to even start) and I joined a mystery KAL and I only did my swatch for it last night and we are already on 6:10 for the patterns...

I have to run and get ready for church, after that I am making homemade strawberry pancakes with sausage and bacon for us and our weekly brunch with Chris (the only step-son in Cola-town). I hope you guys had a great weekend and please stop by and say hi on the contest!

Okay.... Maybe now I can knit again!

After a month of moving my step kids out of their house, cleaning sporadically and helping another cat and a dog get used to our house; I think I may be able to knit again... I am not sure yet, but I am hoping...

I have been working on a nothing but garter stitch scarf for over a month b/c I can only seem to knit about 3 rows a night... OYE!

I still have my mother's socks I was working on too. I have a whole lot of new yarns that I am dying to get into and knit, but I haven't had time to even pet them (it is more malabrigo YUM!).

I have more record art to take pictures of, but again, no time...

I have a few things that I wanted to make, but... no time...

Well, I have a little shopping that needs to be done and after that maybe I will get some more knitting done...

What have I been working on?

I have been making record bowls. I have sold almost all of the ones I had finished, or I gave them away. I went on down to Hobby Lobby on Friday and bought some supplies to play with. I am going to paint some of the records before I turn them into bowls and see how the design turns out on them.

These are the ones I had sitting around on Tuesday.

I am also working on a wall hanging for my sunroom. Since there is a dirth of wall art in there right now.
